Let´s continue this shining Monday with some more smoothie glory. We are both crazy about smoothies and before our transition to this Healthy Raw Vegan Lifestyle we have to admit we rarely indulged in a smoothie.. BUT now we are absolutely in love! Seriously it has not passed a day without both of us have used a mixer to create a delicious little masterpiece! The question is.. How did we survive before?! 😉 Luckily, everyday and every moment is a new chance to create new habits, and this one.. yes, it is a keeper!
– Frozen bananas
– Cardamom, cinnamon (optional)
– 1 banana
No measurements – like always! 🙂
Ok let´s start with layer 1 and mix your frozen bananas with the dates. Add your power ingredients carob and maca. If you donnot have them at home. Don´t worry – this smoothie taste delicious without as well, simply add cardamom and cinnamon instead or if you prefer keep it plain. Mix until you get a nice creamy texture. Put half of it in your glas and the other half in an other glas or bowl meanwhile you prepare the second layer.
Layer 2 – take one or two strawberries and chop them and put them above you first layer, leaning against the glas, and save some to have on the top. Do not stress about washing your mixer from the first layer. It will only make the second one taste even better. With that said, now put the rest of your strawberries in your mixer. Add a normal banana as well to get a little bit of thicker texture. Let it mix until you get a nice strawberry sauce.
Now pour over some of the strawberry sauce on top of the first layer and your chopped strawberries. Make space for the rest of the first banana layer and finish it with the rest of your delicious strawberry sauce. Decorate with a couple of chopped strawberries.
Why add strawberries to your diet?
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C. Did you know that most mammals, except humans, have the ability to produce vitamin C naturally? With that said, it is very important to get your daily requirement. Vitamin C is a real immunity booster! Our red delicious little friendss can also help us to look younger! When we get older we lose collagen, and eating foods rich in vitamin C can help the skin to stay young, healthy and vibrant. Strawberries also promote eye health – and yes, we all want to see the beauty around us. Our eyes require vitamin C to protect them from exposure to free-radicals from the sun´s harsh UV rays, wich can damage the protein in the lens.
There are plenty of more health benefits but we wanted to share a couple of them. Happy strawberry indulgence!
Before we leave you for now. We want to share some beautiful words by Gabrielle Bernstein we recently came across;
“Be who you really are. Not everyone will love it, but trust that your authentic truth is the greatest gift you can share with the world.”
